Light Up Neon Sign Party Celebration
HMS D34 - Royal Navy
In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes of our styling choices - how we created a space that honoured the strength, tradition, and pride of the Royal Navy, while bringing warmth and celebration to this homecoming moment.

Event Styling for the Welcome Home Party of HMS Diamond (D34)

We are incredibly grateful to be a part of such a significant and monumental event - the welcome home party for HMS Diamond (D34) as it returns to Portsmouth Harbour. The Royal Navy plays a vital role in maintaining global security, and it's an honour to contribute to an event celebrating such a remarkable achievement.

HMS Diamond has just completed a historic deployment to the Middle East, where the ship and its crew contributed to Maritime security, safeguarding vital shipping routes and providing critical support to international operations. This Type 45 Destroyer, known for its advanced air defence systems and powerful capabilities, is now home after months at sea, making this event a well-deserved celebration for the crew and their families.

Styling Inspiration for a Royal homecoming:
When styling an event of this magnitude, the goal is to balance the sense of grandeur and pride associated with the Royal Navy, while also creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for the returning crew.

Nautical Elegance:
The theme of this event revolved around HMS Diamond itself. Using deep red and silver balloons - the space was designed to reflect the pride and heritage of HMS Diamond.
Table settings included silver diamonds to pay homage to the Royal Navy ship.
Backdrop settings included a red shimmer wall with a silver diamond cut out to resemble the ships crest/plague. we also carried out the theme through the balloons using the same colours throughout with personalised balloons to add that extra touch.

Creating Moments That Matter

Being part of this welcome home celebration for HMS Diamond (D34) was an unforgettable experience. The Royal Navy's contributions to global security cannot be understated, and this event was a small way of saying, “Thank you for your service.” From the moment the ship docked until the last family reunion of the night, every detail of the styling was aimed at creating an atmosphere that was both celebratory and heartfelt - recognising the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices of the crew and their families.

Here's to many more homecomings, and we look forward to welcoming the Royal Navy back to Portsmouth in the future!
